Hatchwise answers the question every Colorado trout angler asks before heading out: where should I fish tonight, and what should I throw when I get there?
Hatchwise tracks 52 Colorado rivers with live USGS flow and water temperature. 27 of them carry a written ideal-flow range and a fly card, which lets us rank them with a 0–100 Fishability Score; the rest show live gauge data only until that write-up is done. We would rather show you a gap than a number we made up.
On top of that sit cited fly-shop reports and Cody, an AI guide who answers from the same live data you see — and says so when the data isn't there.
Hatchwise is an intelligence layer — where, what and when. It is not an access map. For public access, parking, land ownership and driving directions, use a tool built for that job, such as TroutRoutes or your map app. The two work well together: decide the river here, find the way in there.
Hatchwise covers Colorado and only Colorado — Front Range tailwaters, South Park, the Arkansas, the Gunnison country, the Roaring Fork valley, the San Juans and the northwest. Going deep on one state is how the reports and flies stay specific instead of generic.
Hatchwise is built and run by Tom Baker, a sole proprietor in Brighton, Colorado. It's a small operation: when you email, a person reads it.
