Per FRA 6/5: 'Flows continue to be all over, rapidly rising and falling in the span of a few days. With current flows (~191 cfs), wading can be very difficult — stay at ankle depth or less. When flows are steady, fishing has been pretty good, but a rapid rise or fall messes with the fish. Fish hold behind structure that blocks current like rocks and boulders.' Near crystal clear, water temp lower 40s. Primary hatches: midges, caddis, stones, BWOs. Dry: Steve's Sipper Dun BWO, Mole Fly, Superman Caddis, AR's BWO, Roza's Red Butt Caddis, Micro Chubby, Griffith's Gnat. Subsurface: Good Speed Caddis, Juju Baetis, Tag Perdigon, BTS Mysis, RS-2, Crust Nymph, Sow Bug, Tung Poudre Pupa, Poison Tung. 6X-7X tippet mandatory in crystal-clear water. Today (Sun Jul 5) ~91°F plains, sunny and hot — the cold release fishes all day; scattered storms Tue–Wed, heat rebuilds late week. S. Boulder = best chance for a big wild brown in Boulder County (18"+ routine).
